Welcome to the Community of Practice!
The Ohio Speech Pathology Educational Audiology Coalition (OSSPEAC) is pleased to announce our new COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE!
Thanks to funding received from ODE's Office for Exceptional Children, OSSPEAC is establishing a supportive network for Educational Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists who are new to the school setting. OSSPEAC's Community of Practice (CoP) is made up mentors dedicated to providing guidance and mentees who are refining their practice.
Mentees
If you are an early career communication professional or are transitioning from another professional setting, this is the group for you! The CoP is designed to help you develop the problem solving and self-advocacy skills needed to thrive in a school environment. Mentees in the CoP will be connected with a group of nurturing, seasoned professionals as well as other SLPs and audiologists who are new to the school setting. If you are within your first three years of working in the schools, learn more and/or sign up to be a mentee in OSSPEAC's Community of Practice here.
Mentors
Mentors have worked in the schools for a minimum of six years. They will share their expertise in the field, listen, provide supportive feedback, and assist with finding additional resources. If you are interested in learning more about being an OSSPEAC CoP mentor, you’ll find more information and an application here.

More information to come regarding meet-ups!
