Community of Practice stipend for the OSSPEAC Conference

We can’t wait to see our Community members at the OSSPEAC Conference starting with the CoP session on Sunday, October 13th at 3:30pm! But, can we help you further to get there? CoP has funding set aside for 15 stipends to cover travel expenses like mileage or hotel room reimbursement. If you are a Community of Practice member, please complete the information in the attached form. Priority is given to those new to the schools (i.e., in your first 3 years of practice in the schools) and to those who have not attended an OSSPEAC conference before. CoP stipends are up to $200 and, if selected, some additional documentation will be necessary (e.g., hotel room invoice, mileage form). Expenses will be reimbursed following the conference AND receipt of necessary documentation from awardees. This application must be submitted before Wednesday, October 2nd at 11:59pm.

OSSPEAC continues advocacy for passage of HB 152 Madeline’s Law

OSSPEAC leaders are meeting directly with our legislators in the Ohio Senate as part of a day of advocacy planned by the Ohio Speech and Hearing Governmental Affairs Coalition (OSHGAC). Passage of Madeline’s Law would require health insurers to cover the cost of hearing aids for Ohioans ages 21 and under. It is currently in Senate Committee. Want to track this bill as it makes its way through the legislative process? Use this link https://www.legislature.ohio.gov/legislation/135/hb152
